Concepts

This Concepts section is divided into two subsections – Key Concepts and Core Values. It helps us understand how Hindus see and respond to the world. Religious phenomena make greater sense when examined in the light of the rationale and purposes behind them.

Some might call this section “core beliefs.” However, the notion of religion as a belief system is alien to most Hindus, who talk of their tradition as a universal science. Indeed, the tradition has largely managed to blend religious commitment with a spirit of philosophical inquiry. We might more accurately denote this section Hindu ideals, expressed as philosophical concepts (Key Concepts section) and personal values (Core Values section).
